The fastest vehicle in 1900

NBC Nightly News on March 10, 2014 concluded with a story on "The Rocket", an ice boat that was photographed in motion pictures by Thomas Edison. At the time, the ice boat was the fastest vehicle on earth.

The New York Times had reported on March 2, 2014 in Reviving a Rivalry, After Years on Ice:


At the time, the iceboats were the fastest vessels on earth, capable of reaching more than 100 miles per hour in a strong wind and of shooting past trains up and down the Hudson.
