Apple loses at the CAFC

In another bad day for Apple's iOS operating system, in the case Anocora v. Apple , Ancora won its appeal and Apple lost its cross-appeal.

At the trial level, Anocora had lost on its infringement charge because of the construction of the term "program."

But the CAFC noted


We conclude that the district court erred in construing
“program” to mean “a set of instructions for software
applications that can be executed by a computer.” Ancora,
2012 WL 6738761, at *10
