$105 million loan guarantee to POET on 7 July 2011 for cellulosic ethanol

The Des Moines Register stated on 7 July 2011:

The federal government says it plans to announce funding today for "an innovative biofuel project that will create jobs and help the renewable energy industry expand in Iowa."

Energy Secretary Steven Chu and Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack will make the announcement in a conference call at 8:30 a.m. today (7 July 2011).

Platts reported: The US Department of Energy on Thursday (7 July 2011) announced it has offered ethanol producer POET a $105 million conditional loan guarantee to build the first US commercial-scale cellulosic ethanol plant in Iowa.
