Savient gets TRO against Novartis over oxandrolone

Savient Pharmaceuticals Inc. said a U.S. federal court (D NJ) granted a temporary restraining order [TRO] enjoining all sales of generic oxandrolone tablets by Novartis AG'S Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, and Upsher-Smith Laboratories.

The order was given Dec. 4 in a Hatch-Waxman lawsuit filed by Savient against Sandoz and Upsher-Smith for infringement of patents related to its oral anabolic steroid Oxandrin.
