Initial determination of infringement by Qualcomm of Broadcom patent

On October 10, ITC Administrative Law Judge Charles Bullock found three patents asserted by Broadcom to be valid and claims of one of the patents to be infringed by Qualcom. Braodcom said infringing products of Qualcomm include cellular baseband processor chips that comprise Qualcomm's core suite of multimedia and convergence handset platforms. Qualcomm said that Bullock recommended that no downstream remedies be implemented against the wireless handsets of third parties that incorporate Qualcomm chips and software.
