Acambis looking good?

Concerning a dispute over smallpox vaccine between Acambis and Bavarian Nordic:

"It's not a judgment but in the opening statement the International Trade Commission [ITC] has come down on the side of Acambis saying they don't have a case to answer," said analyst Jonathan Senior at Evolution Securities. "They're saying Bavarian's patents are not valid."

Of a separate, but related, matter:

Acambis said in May 2006 that it and U.S. partner Baxter had filed an opposition to a European patent granted to Bavarian Nordic regarding technology used to make a weakened version of a smallpox vaccine. [from Reuters]

[Recall on of the issues in US patent reform is whether or not to implement some form of opposition process.]
