CIRM announces recipients of $12 million in BAN money

CIRM announced who is receiving money as a result of the funding made available by the sale of BANs. Stanford, UCLA, UCSD, and UCSF each will receive about $1.2 million to support 16 scholars. On average, that's $75,000 per scholar. In total, 16 institutions will receive funding.

Some of the quotes on the CIRM website are of interest:

"rising tide of knowledge"

"I don't want my son's future held hostage to someone else's ideology."
