Editor Kennedy talks about bubble fusion

In an editorial at 311 Science 1213 (March 3, 2006), Kennedy talks about bubble fusion and the (non)process of adding/deleting authors from submitted/published papers. Although he mentioned the unavailability of author removal in a Pottery Barn metaphor, the problem, certainly highlighted in the Woo Suk Hwang matter, is that some co-authors may not even realize that a paper, bearing their name, has been submitted (and possibly published). If you don't go into Pottery Barn, you shouldn't be responsible for breakage.
