Paul Glomski, CEO of software firm Detroit Labs, said his company's 85 developers are hesitant to pursue advancements in areas that overlap with competing technology.
"They're scared to research what exists out there," he said. "What they tell me is there are multiple patents that seem to conflict with each other and for sure would infringe on the idea they're working on."
