Biden plagiarism saga re-emerges

The Belleville, Illinois News-Democrat attempts to answer the question:

A few years ago, Vice President Joe Biden was accused of and admitted to plagiarism. Could you refresh my memory on the facts? -- Ron Krause, of Belleville

Poor Ron Krause is treated by ROGER SCHLUETER to a regurgitation of the Neil Kinnock saga including:

Example: "Is it because I'm the first Biden in a thousand generations to get a college and graduate degree ... ?" Biden had said, a copy of Kinnock's "Why am I the first Kinnock in a thousand generations to be able to get to university?"

The issue with Joe Biden was not so much "copying Kinnock" as it was that Biden was NOT the first Biden to "get to university." Untruthfulness, rather than copying.

HOWEVER, the Belleville News-Democrat failed to mention that Biden flat-out plagiarized in his first year at Syracuse Law.

One commenter mentioned a different matter related to Biden/law school, but NOT the plagiarism:

In order to fully appreciate what Joe Biden said about graduating in the top half of his class, you have to understand the context. He said to someone who question his academic ability, "I think I have a much higher I.Q. than you do I suspect. I went to law
school on a full academic scholarship – the only one in my class to have
a full academic scholarship.” He then went on to claim he graduated in the top half of his class. That's no mere puffery; he is trying to intimidate the person and is extremely condescending and arrogant--and can't back it up because it's simply not true. When Biden went to school, graduating was tough; I worked for someone who graduated from Syracuse Law about the same time, and more than half of the class failed out or quit. Instead of merely responding that he is smart, and backing it up with the fact that he graduated law school, he said that he was smarter than the person who confronted him.
BTW, I also graduated law school with his son, Beau, who was no academic giant. He was, however, very likable--a true politician.

The story about Biden at Syracuse Law has been around for a while, but has not impeded Biden getting elected in Delaware or as VP. For most people, this is simply NOT a critical issue.
