"crudely abused and intentionally deluded the standards of sound academic practice"

Not coming across as a clone of Southern Illinois University [SIU], a panel of University of Bayreuth academics branded the thesis of Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg as containing "intentional academic misconduct." and observed "Mr. zu Guttenberg … crudely abused and intentionally deluded the standards of sound academic practice."

The fuzzy thinkers at SIU had conjured up a concept of unintentional plagiarism that allowed thesis plagiarist (and Democrat) President Glenn Poshard to remain. While SIU allowed Poshard a re-do of the poached work, Bayreuth is expected to strip zu Guttenberg permanently of his doctorate when the final report is released on May 11, 2011.
