CSI: NY does "NY alert"

The perp on CSI: NY on Nov. 5, 2010 was snagged by NY Alert.

In the storyline, the perp was using bullets filled with nitroglycerine [ C3H5N3O9 ]. One might ask why the bullets didn't explode on shooting.

Back in the day, Alfred Nobel earned his money via patents on dynamite, made by mixing nitroglycerin with diatomaceous earth (kieselguhr).

Did the CSI writers forget history?
