Sound bytes as substance in amicus briefs?

Back in October 2009, TOSHIKO TAKENAKA (Director, CASRIP) and SEAN O’CONNOR (Associate Director, CASRIP) submitted an amicus brief on Bilski. Recently, Professor Takenaka was co-signor of an amicus brief on Therasense (an inequitable conduct case), which brief ended with a citation to O'Connor, 9 JMRIPL 330, about inequitable conduct being the wild card of patent litigation. Sound bytes, anyone?
