Getting rid of fat the laser way
Aesthetic-laser device maker Cynosure Inc said it settled a patent infringement lawsuit against CoolTouch Inc, regarding a laser technology to remove subcutaneous fat.
Of the KYW story:
"This is really one of the first forms of non-invasive lipo sculpture," said Dr. Andrew Kwak with the Lumen Laser Center in Bryn Mawr, one of the first in the Philadelphia area to have the Zerona laser.
"It basically opens up a small hole in the fat cell, so the oil content spills out and then just seals back up. That oil content travels throughout the body is broken down, is burned off and basically is normally excreted," said Dr. Kwak.
