"Science is not done by consensus"

Arvid Pasto on global warming issues:

Science is not done by consensus, and unless and until there is conclusive scientific evidence to support man-made global warming, we should not risk the economic viability of the U.S.

**Update. From a letter to the editor in the Times-Leader on 27 Dec 09:

Global warming, especially the so-called man-made kind, is science fiction, not science. A consensus of scientists does not make anything science. Period. Science must be proven. Many scientists, in fact, believe the exact opposite – that the earth is cooling. But, again, this view doesn’t fit the political agenda of this administration.

Finally, this is a message to all retailers out there. Since Climategate has proven that global warming (man-made or otherwise) is propaganda, please start getting rid of compact fluorescent bulbs and return to stocking only incandescent bulbs (one of the greatest inventions of all time). The lighting is poorer, the compact fluorescent bulbs are much more expensive and, if you break one, you practically have to call the state Department of Environmental Protection just to dispose of it. Government regulations are to blame for this shift to an inferior light. The government should not be in the business of regulating out of existence a staple of a light source that we have been using for well more than 100 years in the name of false science for an inferior product.
