Doll of USPTO: wait till 2012

EETimes has the following quote from John Doll:

"At our current rate in about 2012 filings may equal the number of cases we process, but we will probably have 800,000 cases in the backlog by then, so we need to gain efficiencies in the system, and that's what we are trying to do with some new programs."

It appears that finally, Doll is addressing the issue I raised in several of my comments on USPTO pendency problems: Disposal rate must equal incoming filing rate. After years of silence on this issue, this is the first time I hear USPTO finally mention this simple metric. See slide 7 in my UC Davis presentation at
