The Star-Ledger had text: "People are saying enough is enough with the borrowing, and that we shouldn't be venturing into highly risky business ventures," said Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan, who campaigned against both proposals.

The Star-Ledger also noted the law voter turnout: With a little more than a quarter of the registered voters showing up, turnout appeared to be the lowest for any Legislative election since the early part of the last century.

Some Republicans did well: Assemblymen Christopher "Kip" Bateman (R-Somerset), Joe Pennachio (R-Mercer), Sean Kean (R-Monmouth), Bill Baroni (R- Mercer), Kevin O'Toole (R-Bergen) and Christopher Connors (R- Ocean) all won Senate seats held by Republicans.

In the world of Hamilton, NJ: Supporters at Democratic HQ in Hamilton at La Villa Italian Restaurant watch a tv monitor as John Bencivengo declares victory in the Hamilton mayoral race defeating incumbent Glen Gilmore. Hamilton mayor Glen Gilmore keeps a stiff upper lip with his wife Katie, at Democratic HQ at at La Villa Italian Restaurant during concession speeches. Seema Singh, defeated candidate for state senate, is at right.

Thanks for blogging this. I really like your take on the issues involved, and I wouldn't have known anything about this but-for your blog.
