EETimes reports a settlement between Toshiba and Hynix: Hynix Semiconductor Inc. and Toshiba Corp. on Match 20, 2007 settled a longstanding patent dispute over DRAM and NAND technology with an agreement on semiconductor cross-licensing and product supply. Though details were not confirmed, the deal reportedly involves a Hynix cash payment to Toshiba. The legal wrangling dates back to November 2004, when Toshiba sued Hynix in Federal District Courts in Texas and California after the companies failed to agree on an update of an existing patent-licensing pact.
