NBC's Brian Williams: TVNewser "is the closest thing to the bible of what's going on in our industry"

Peter Johnson on July 9: TVNewser "is the closest thing to the bible of what's going on in our industry," says Brian Williams of NBC, who checks it daily. "But it's a little disconcerting knowing that the main pulse of your industry is being taken by someone who cannot legally take a drink." [TVNewser is run by Brian Stelter, a 20 year old.]

Earlier on July 9, CBS had argued that bloggers did not have the resources that conventional news organizations have.

Will the real network tv position on bloggers please stand up?

Brian Williams himself is not a college graduate:

Upon leaving college without a degree, a decision that he terms "one of my great regrets", Williams began his broadcasting career at KOAM-TV in Pittsburg, Kansas and later moved back to Washington, DC to work at WTTG-TV as general assignment correspondent. After his stint there, Williams was hired at WCBS-TV in New York where he won his first Emmy for his reporting of the stock market collapse. Williams regards WNBC's Chuck Scarborough as a mentor.
