Korean prosecutors resume Hwang inquiry on Jan. 16

South Korean prosecutors plan to question six researchers on Monday, Jan. 16, as part of a probe into fraudulent claims of breakthroughs by disgraced stem cell scientist Hwang Woo suk, news reports said.

It would be the first time prosecutors interview researchers since the investigation began last week.

The summoned -- identified only as "working-level researchers" from Seoul National University and its partner research hospital -- don't include Hwang, according to South Korea's Yonhap news agency.

News cable channel YTN said prosecutors plan to question other researchers first before calling in Hwang because he already stated his position in a press conference last week.
