Walmart, Reebok settle in case over Starter Oxide sneaker

Canton, Ohio-based Reebok sued Wal-Mart in December 2004, alleging that the design of the Bentonville, Ark.-based retail giant's Starter Oxide sneaker violated a patent Reebok had obtained earlier in 2004.

The article also states: In court filings, Wal-Mart attorneys argued that no patent violation occurred because the sneakers were manufactured before Reebok received the patent for the triple-soled shoe. Hmm, what about the use, sell or offer for sale part of 35 USC 271? No wonder they settled.
