Iridex sues Synergetics over Quick Disconnect Laser Probes

Iridex Corp. is suing O'Fallon, Missouri-based Synergetics USA Inc. in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri for patent infringement for manufacturing and selling its Quick Disconnect Laser Probes and Adapter.

Pamela Boone, Synergetics chief financial officer, said the laser products being challenged by Iridex make up two items from a 700- item catalog for medical instruments. In 2005, Synergetics reported revenues of $21.8 million prior to its recent merger with Valley Forge Scientific Corp.
