Rooker/Feldman doctrine applied to patents in divorce case

In the non-precedential Weres v. Weres, the CAFC applied the Rooker/Feldman doctrine (federal district courts do not have jurisdiction over challenges to state court decisions) to a challenge to a state court (divorce) decision which affected patent rights.

The plaintiff (Oleh Weres) obtained a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Chicago, but later moved to California, where the dispute arose. Among other things, he is co-inventor of US 6698205, with address Sonoma Research.
