Change in business model at Transmeta?

There has been discussion of companies which merely trade in intellectual property and which do not make or contemplate making any product. The battles of Acacia have attracted attention, as has the sale of IP assets of Commerce One. Transmeta has been a provider of processors for mobile computing platforms, but now contemplates emphasis on licensing of IP.

from CRN:

Matthew Perry, CEO of Transmeta: "Transmeta has spent a decade developing world-class microprocessor technology and related intellectual property. By modifying our business model to focus more on our licensing opportunities we could expect to reduce our cash needs substantially."
