Lockyer suggests Demo Party head Torres for CIRM vice-chair

In the ongoing comedy known as California's CIRM, the head of California's Democratic Party, Art Torres, has been nominated by State Treasurer Bill Lockyer as a candidate for the vice chairmanship of the state's $3 billion stem cell agency [CIRM] to succeed Ed Penhoet.

The "news cycle" timing is impeccable, with the announcement coinciding with the arrest of the Governor of Illinois for trying to sell Barack Obama's Senate seat.

What are these people thinking? Maybe Slovenia is better off than California.

Recall separately the CIRM fiasco over tax-exempt vs. taxable bonds.
