Fairchild/Power Integrations patent litigation put on hold

In a different impact of KSR, Reuters reported that a D. Delaware patent litigation has been put on hold:

Fairchild Semiconductor said a federal court cancelled its jury trial against Power Integrations Inc. after the court found that a pending case in the U.S. Supreme Court might impact this dispute.

The case pending before the Supreme Court deals with patent obviousness, or the weeding out of inventions that are obvious.

Fairchild, in a statement, said the Delaware U.S. District Court reset the jury trial on validity issues to May 7. (Reporting by Deepti Chaudhary in Bangalore)

IPBiz is unsure of why the "May 7" date was selected, because the KSR decision is not expected until July.
